Just a day in this life...

We have a little pool out on the back deck and you would think we had something seriously fancy schmancy. Bes can entertain herself for hours in that little 'ol thing. Little sister, on the other hand, had yet to be convinced... until this day. I had left the water in the pool from the day before so it was quite warm and little Mae decided she would give it a try. Come to find out she just likes her pool water heated. I can relate.

These two are the best of pals. They each are the other's biggest fan. Sure, Bes gets a little rough with Mae at times and aggravates the snot out of her and Mae already has herself a little attitude that is almost always provoked by her big sister but these two are {usually} so sweet to watch. Bessie has got her baby sister's back for sure... Mae has gotten a few stern "no-no's" as of late and boy, do they break her heart. Big sister is right by her side in no time flat loving on her and telling her it'll be ok and Mae just thinks Bessie is the funniest bestest thing ever. She has started called her "Bebbie" and every time she says it I melt. We have a morning routine where Bes wakes first and then as soon as Mae wakes up Bes runs to tell her good morning and play with her in her bed for a bit.Then Bes always wants to "read" Mae a story... she's finally getting to where she'll sit {almost} still enough to satisfy big sister. A sweet sister moment captured... and here's to many, many more waiting to be made. I love my girls so...

VBS 2012

Another fun year of VBS for the Sumrall girls! From what I hear, Mae kept the ladies in the nursery thoroughly entertained while Bes got to spend her mornings having the time of her life.. she especially loved making treasures during "crap time" otherwise known as craft time... though the irony of her little mistake is not lost on me. =) Meanwhile, Leah and I had the job of taming a classroom FULL of 1st graders. Such a fun little break from the daily grind for this mama. Already looking forward to next year!

Our first year of teeball is going well. Not a whole lot of rule enforcing going on but fun times are the name of the game!

Above pictured chair caused the first all out hissy fit by little sister. Game over, chair folded and ready to head to the car and Mae was determined to drag that bag that's as big as she is to the car... which was not parked close. If I let her have her way, she kept falling (and might I add she has a goose egg that I fear is permanent). If I picked her up, she bucked and kicked and screamed. She pitched such a fit that ALL eyes were on her (and me). If this is a sign of things to come I'm in BIG trouble.
