The best day ever.

Some days out of nowhere Bes will look at me and say in the sweetest little voice, "This is the best day ever!"... I love those days... kind of makes me feel better about the not so great days... the days where I go to bed wishing I could have a do over.

This particular "best day ever" started with a few airplane rides...

Then we just played the day away.

Bes was in rare form...

as you can see.. =)

And little Mae was just happy that she wasn't napping during all the fun!

I tried...

Setting: Fabulousness.
Subjects: Couldn't be cuter (if I do say so myself).
Goal: To get an awesome photo of the 2 of them... in the same frame.

Problem: Sister wasn't feeling it. At all.

I sure do love...

Oh Miller...

April 21, 1999 - February 20, 2012

Me and you. We've had our moments. You used to be the only kid in town... then Bes came along... and you started eating her dirty diapers out of the trash. Whole. And I figured out it wasn't my washer that was eating all those teensy weensy little socks after all. I survived the baby days with you and Bes co-existing. I decided that she looked just as cute in dog hair and stopped stressing over it. Then she ate a tick (I can't believe I just told y'all that) and yes, I did say that you had better sleep with one eye open. But we made it and you found yourself a little buddy in ol' Bessie Boo. Then came Mae... and you decided to eat my underwear. Whole. Gross, I know. Oh you puked them up... every.single.time. We decided it was best to invest in a steam cleaner. Once again, it was time for another little one to share the floor with you. Once again, I had to let it go and become one with the dog hair. You were a shedding machine. The Furminator couldn't even hold up it's promise against you buddy. But I have to say, even though you and I didn't always see eye to eye, you were great company... minus the horrendous gas. The silent but deadly rule did not apply to you, yours had volume. A warning for what was to come. Thank you for that. Truth is, I've never known life with Brad without you in it. I've never known this house without you in it. I did not know that our house made so many noises... I always just assumed it was you. I did not know that Mae made such a mess on the floor while she ate... you just helped yourself to a little snack time. I did not know that our house would feel so empty without you... and I did not even realize that when Brad worked nights you made me feel safe while he was away. I never thought I would miss you like I do... I miss seeing you lying in the hallway to the girls rooms when I put them to bed...  I miss hearing you chase rabbits in your sleep... and yes, I even miss your "poopy pant" when it was time for you to go outside to take care of business. You were a good dog. Finest there was, I believe. I hate more than anything that you had to spend your final days suffering but your daddy just couldn't bear to put you down. You may be gone but never forgotten. I love you Mill Mill... I'll see you in heaven buddy.

11 months old.

Valentine's Tea.

The week before Valentine's day our local library hosted a Valentine's Tea. The kids got to come all dressed up and Mother Goose was there to help them be mindful of their manners. =)
