Sorta kinda a REALLY big deal.

This past week at school Bes's class talked about firemen, policemen, doctors, etc. One day when I picked her up I immediately noticed her new accessory... a princess BAND-AID! I could not believe it! She has always loved the idea of a band-aid... for the longest time every time we would go to Walmart she would beg for band aids... then ending up using them like stickers. We had a come to Jesus one day about how band aids and stamps were not stickers and that was that. The few times since that she would get a boo boo I would try to put a band aid on it and she would FrEaK out! The only two times in her life where she has been truly terrified is the other day at Kroger when we happened upon a life size creepy old man Halloween creature that came to "life" when you walked by... red faced and shaking uncontrollably my sweet girl said to me, "don't worry mommy, I'll keep you safe" =)... and then of course, whenever we tried to put a band aid on her. So, needless to say, I was SHOCKED that she let them put one on. It lasted all day and into the next before it finally fell off... I have since discovered her band aid moment had to be the result of complete and total peer pressure because she has tried several times since to wear one and she just can't make it happen. Bless her. =)

Worth a thousand words...

This afternoon Brad noticed that Bes's bicycle tires were pretty much flat... not really sure why I never made that observation myself but I'm pretty certain they've been that way, like... forever. =) A little air later, Bes was completely amazed at how easy it was to ride her bike and she was looking like a pro. So... Brad asked her if she wanted to try riding without her training wheels. Of course, she didn't have a clue what that meant but she was all about it. So off they came and then she figured it all out... and there was NO WAY she was getting on that sucker. Meltdown followed and the training wheels were quickly replaced. You know I was camera ready but this is the only photo I managed to capture... taken right before said meltdown. Her daddy is giving her the lowdown and she's looking like "you can't be serious about this!?!"... love it. I guess two is a little young to be scooting around on a "big girl" bike... and truth be told, I'm just fine with the training wheels... since Bes has a severe phobia of band aids I'm sure it wouldn't have ended well. =)
