Memorial Day Weekend

I am so behind on my blog postings... so much to blog, so little time. =) The Shumpert clan has rented a lake house at Smith Lake for the summer and Memorial Day weekend was our first official trip! The weather wasn't the best but we did make it out on the boat a few times when the sun peaked through and had big fun spending time with all the family. A ton of pictures are below... in no particular order...
Pop Daddy, Macy, and Will Riley

Aunt Moddy reading Brantley, Bes and Charlie a book about Memorial Day.

Pop Daddy loving on Blake and Tanner.
Macy tubing in front of our lake house... yeah, not really our lake house...
but it really is Macy tubing. =)

Pop Daddy and Meg taking it all in.

After a minor running out of gas in front of an oncoming barge mishap on the pontoon boat the previous weekend, it took Charlie a little bit to want to get back on the water. He just sat on the steps and watched everyone else...here he and Uncle Bob are dicussing the situation.
Bes was not a fan of her life jacket. Not. A. Fan.

Our sad, sad attempt at a photo.

She finally crawled up in Uncle Bob's lap and gave it up.

My husband the hottie makes another appearance...
this time with his little bro, Parker.

Bes got in Grommie's purse and came down the hallway with her hands full...
then went straight to the trash can... to which Brad replied,
"She got that from her mama, just throwin' money away." =)

Brantley and Bes cheesin' it up.

This chick is crazy about a bottle of water!
Having a ball... she's outside... with a bottle of water...
and while at the lake she eats cheetos for lunch and goldfish for supper...
what more could the girl ask for!?!
Thanks for reading... bye ya'll. =)

Thanks Bes's daddy and Jack's daddy!!

I'm a little behind on posting pics but a couple of weeks ago we bought Bes a swingset! It took quite a few hours of labor to put it all together but thanks to Brad and Neil it is now perfect! Bes LOVES it! Unfortunately, her first trip down the slide was a wee bit too exciting... it's FAST... and she took a bounce at the end which she did not enjoy so now we have to hold her hand when she goes down but we're working on it... She did try alternate ways of sliding by herself before she decided the hand holding method was the best... she really liked going down feet first on her belly but like I said, it's fast so would scratch up her legs pretty good when she got to the bottom. I started putting pants on her but she decided to nix that idea too once she figured out I would hold her hand. Jack was there the first time she got to play on it so now every time she goes out to play she clacks her tongue which is her way of saying Jack. =)
This girl LOVES her blankie...
The rock wall ladder can be used as a slide... a very bumpy one... but it works. Several times she has gotten to the very top then slipped and down she goes! =)

She thinks she is such a big girl on this swing.

Weekend of Fun: Part Three

Sunday it was time for the zoo! I have been so excited to take Bes to the zoo for the first time ever and she loved it! She even surprised us with her animal sounds. We had been practicing them in anticipation for our trip and she was all about the elephants, monkeys, and ducks! We also tried another first... a kiddie "leash"... Brad was ashamed that I would even consider it and I have to admit I said I'd never!! BUT desperate times call for desperate measures and this totally qualified!! We walked by this little boy not much older than Bes and he looked at his mom and said, "Mommy, why her a puppy? Is her a puppy?" Classic. =)

Jack taught her his "I'm-so-excited-I-just-can't-stand-it" dance.

I took this one for Dee. She LOVES elephants.

Another sweet one for Dee.

Checking out the giraffes.
The carousel was a big hit too! I just love seeing things through her eyes...
it makes it so much more fun... can't you tell!?!
And I had to include this one... just because I think my hubby is such a hottie! =)

Weekend of Fun: Part Two

We thought all that playing in the sun would've worn them out but we were wrong so back outside we went to play some more!

I LOVE this picture. Just love it.
Bes is crazy about Jack and this picture shows it perfectly! She just thinks
he is the funniest thing ever!

Bes and her DeeDee

I see you.

Bessie...

...goes 'round...

..in circles.

Jack gettin' him some lovin' from Bessie Boo.

Sweet pic of Bes.

And all that running after Jack...
resulted in a nice little goose egg. =)

Weekend of Fun: Part One

This past weekend the Sumralls and the Mullins headed to Bes's DeeDee's in Memphis for a weekend of fun! Saturday morning we did a little shopping then Brad and Neil played golf at Southwind while the girls and Jack went to the Collierville Sprinkler Park... only problem was it hadn't opened for the summer yet so we took a quick trip to Target for some water toys and we were back in business! Back to Dee's house we went and I don't think they could have been happier! =)

Coming in to give Leah a kiss...
No kisses for me... they were ALL for Leah...

I just love it when Jack gets excited!
Sweet Jack.

What you talkin' 'bout Willis?

I love my sisters...

... and my sisters love me! While we were at my Mama't's for Mother's Day we celebrated my birthday too! Spending time with the fam is always oh-so-much fun! My sisters gave me THE MOST precious bracelet. If you've ever seen me... or my left wrist... then you know I ALWAYS have on two David Yurman bracelets that Brad gave me that I have worn literally every day for the past 4 or 5 years. Add my "sisters" bracelet and thy wrist is now complete! =) It has the sweetest little jingle that I just adore and is a constant reminder of how much my sisters love me... which reminds me of all my nieces and nephews... and well, all that just makes me smile! =) Thank you big sisters of mine! I love you three more than you'll ever know!!

Your mama loves you.

My mother ALWAYS signs things... your mama loves you... and only now can I know just how BIG that little word is... love... a feeling so strong that you feel like your heart just can't hold it all in and my mother had four girls... how on earth did her heart not burst from all that love for us!?! Now this is me signing... your youngest =) daughter loves you... Happy Mother's Day Grommie! I appreciate all that working you did to "keep that little red car on the road." Nobody loves me like my mom...

And hugs and kisses to Dee Dee and Emmie for treating me like family from day one... I couldn't ask for sweeter in-laws!

And last but definately not least... to my sweet Bessie Boo... thank you for making motherhood the most fun ever! My cup runneth over!

Bes hearts Dora.

And this my friends is why I am positively giddy about taking Bes to see Dora Live in Birmingham next month! When did her Dora obsession get so out of control!?! I am such a Disney girl... Mickey Mouse Club House anyone? Or how about My friends Tigger and Pooh? I'll even settle for Handy Manny... I do love that Mr. Lopart... but nooooo it's Dora that she hearts. And if Bessie loves her some Dora then by golly I will too! D-D-D-D-Dora... D-D-D-D-Dora..

Let the summer begin!

This morning we took out first trip to the pool for the summer. By the looks of all the kids' blue lips I'm going to say the water was still a little chilly but it was a fun time nonetheless! I was thinking that this year was going to be crazy with Bes being able to walk but she was so good and played in the kiddie pool with Jack the whole time. I must say the kiddie pool at the Country Club is GENIUS! =) Leah and I just might get a tan this year! Bring on the summertime!

Sweet tea at the CC is mmm mmm good!

"Cheese!"

Jack is almost one year to the day older than Bes so I love watching him
and seeing what Bes is going to be up to in a year! Bes thinks he is SO funny!

I can't wait to see what this summer has in store for us! She is just so animated and SO fun! Her faces are forever cracking me up! I LOVE that sweet child of mine!
