Nana's pretty flowers

Nana (Brad's grandmother) wanted us to come over and take some pictures of Bes with her pretty flowers. Bes thinks Nana is the funniest thing ever so getting her to smile was not a problem! =) So precious. Oh how I love my sweet little girl.

Bes's first sleep over!

We woke up bright and early and went outside to play, then came in to take a bath, had a little breakfast and then we were all ready to play some more but Bes was all worn out and fell asleep! Which is why I only have this one random picture of them eating breakfast. Maribeth came to pick Brady up while Bes was still asleep and when she woke up she started saying, "where's bady?" and pretty much has been saying it ever since. =)

Sending Alex off in style cookout!

Last Saturday we spent the afternoon at a going away party for a friend that's leaving soon for school to be a worship pastor in Colorado Springs. We spent the afternoon grilling burgers and hot dogs, hanging out with friends and enjoying the FABULOUS weather!!

Why won't she eat? Drink, all she does is drinks!

All the hubbys playing a game of football.

Bes talking to Jack Dudley. I love the way she says "Jack Dudley"
and boy, does she say it. She's a big fan of the Holliman boys!

Thinking hard about going down the slide.

Oops, changed her mind... backing up out of there.

Jack is telling her how much fun it is...

and she did it!!
Disclaimer: No sooner than we got there Bes had a little blowout so Jack had to lend her one of his tshirts... which is why she looks like a hoodlum in all these pics. =)

Bes's first day of "school"!!

Yesterday was Bes's first day at Fairview's Mother's Day Out program. She thought she was such a big girl with her backpack and lunchbox and marched right on in like she owned the place... right in her classroom she went and then it all hit her... Mommy was leaving!! She cried for just a minute and her precious teacher, Mrs. Lucy swept her up and in no time she was playing with her sweet friend Campbell, happy as can be! When I picked her up I met the director at the door where she informed me that naptime was "quite a challenge"... uh oh... I was afraid of that. =) We took her napmat home so that they might could make friends a little and then tomorrow we shall try, try again!

As you can see she wasn't in the mood for picture taking...
and it was an early morning for us... and we were running late...

Is it time!?!

Here lately Bes has been very interested in the potty... only once has she actually tee-teed in the potty and I am well aware that it was just good timing. =) The whole time at the beach she would bring me a diaper and wipes when she needed her diaper changed but she is definately not dry when she wakes up in the morning. She's only 20 months old so I'm sure I should just sit tight but to all you moms out there who've been there and done that... is there anything that I should be doing in the meantime??

Out with a bang!

This past week we ended the "summer" in style... at the beach! We had such a fun time! I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of the actual beach... now give me a pool strategically placed by the beach and I'm a happy camper but all that sand, oh my! I do love lounging on the beach and reading but who am I kidding... those days are long gone! Bes, on the other hand, LOVED the beach and all things associated... she dug in the sand, searched for seashells, chased the seagulls, found a couple of sand crabs and played in the ocean! You should have seen the amount of sand that was dumped out of her swimsuit from all that playing every day!! It is such an incredible blessing to be able to let Bes experience God's amazing creations! The beach is just so humbling to me... How INCREDIBLE is HE!?! All that chasing after Bes didn't leave much time for me to grab the camera... **gasp**... I know, SO not like me... but here are a few of my favorites!

Swiper the fox would come up to the house each night and let us feed him... isn't that so bizarre... a fox on the beach!! As you can imagine Bes thought that was just grand and she said, "no, no, no" and shook her finger at him... her version of "Swiper no swiping!"

Then exactly 2 minutes after we made it home she fell out the door and earned a mighty fine boo-boo! Such a nice welcome home present! =)
