5 months old

At 5 months old Mae is...

loving her toes!!

Such a precious reminder to give God the glory for healthy hips this time around! Big sister never "found" her toes due to her hip problem at birth so every time I see Mae eating on her little piggies I count my many blessings... Bes has had no residual problems after her corrective surgery and Mae thinks her toes are the yummiest ever! God is so good!

Priceless.

Mae's talented great great aunt Joan made her the sweetest blanket when she was born. It's perfect. Every.single.inch of it makes me smile. Perhaps priceless keepsakes such as these should be put away for safe keeping but I just love it too much to keep it in a drawer. It's almost always lying on the living room floor just waiting to have it's precious little owner rolling around on it.

Oh Nap Nanny...

But you allow Mae to watch tv/be entertained by her sister/hang out like this...

and this can't be good, right?

Llama llama does NOT miss her mama...

A couple of weeks ago we were reading this book... it's a sweet little story about a little llama that goes to school and misses his mama terribly... we read it often and after one reading Bes looked at me very matter of fact and said, "don't worry mama, I NEVER miss you when I go to school"... and I'll admit it stung, just a little... but it is so reassuring to know that when Bes goes to "school" she is having the time of her life.

When we got our school packet in the mail she started getting excited, like REALLY excited. She loves nothing more to pretend like she's shopping and "ordering" (as she like to call checking out) so I promised her that she could take her very own shopping cart to Walmart and buy her school supply list. She was hard core picking out the perfect boxes of Kleenex and wipes. Let me just tell you, she takes this shopping stuff serious. At the end, she put it all on the belt and paid with her very own (gift) card and then it was off to Smackers to celebrate the start of another school year!

First Day of School 2011

This is her 3rd year of Mother's Day Out and she's feeling like she pretty much owns the place... and first week down and we are 2 for 2 on naps. Woohoo!

Sweet cousins.

Bes spent the weekend with her DeeDee and while it made for a quiet house here... notsomuch for Dee... though I have a good feeling she wouldn't want it any other way! =)

Fun times with cousins are always the best!

A day in the life.
