Miss America party!

My sweet friend Rachel had a Miss America party tonight and it was a blast! I got to break out the old Football Queen crown from '97 and spend some time with the girls! I admit I watched every episode of TLC's Countdown to the Crown and I got online and voted last night. My fav was Florida and I was really hoping that she would win it but in the end I really thought Miss Indiana was a great choice for Miss America!! Already looking forward to next year girls! :)

This was the group picture so I had to post it but how unfortunate that I am on the front row looking big as a buick! Ugh!

Fun times with the Allison twins!

Today was too much fun! Bes and I went to the Fashion Barn to play with Landry and Isabella and did they ever play?!? Are these not the cutest kids... I mean really!

Isabella and Landry posed by their names... Bes wasn't in the mood for pictures...

I told them both to make a funny face and they did!

So precious!

Oh my word!

Bes has been in rare form today... to say the least! We had a pretty busy day... lunch with April, Lily and Meg at Burger King... who can resist a Burger King original chicken sandwich AND a coke icee!?! Then it was off to shop for Bes some precious new spring Castles and Crowns clothes at Elizabeth's with Shannon, Macy and Lucy. By the time we made it home she was giving me a run for my money! She has learned to open all drawers (like the big heavy dresser drawers in the bedrooms) and she can empty them in 0.2 seconds... she'll go missing then you'll hear her splashing in Miller's water bowl... she'll tear paper towels and toilet paper into tiny little pieces and then proceed to eat it...and she's a climber... tonight she even climbed up on the dishwasher! What a mess she is but oh how I love that sweet little girl!

Bes's new talent!

Yes, that's a golf ball! She can fit the whole thing in there and just about get her lips closed! She'll just play away with that in her mouth. It's too funny! I know, seems like quite the choking hazard. The first time she did it I flipped out and Brad said (and I quote) "You put that in your mouth and see if you can swallow it. " Alrighty then!

Girls! Girls! Girls!

All these girls! Let me introduce you to another... Mary Clark Kelly was born Friday, January 16 weighing in at 6 lbs 12 oz and 19 inches long. Mary Clark's sweet mama and I have been best friends since 6th grade and I am so excited that we both have little girls to spoil! Congratulations J.D. and Margaret!

Happy 30th April!

My adorable friend April turned 30 yesterday and we partied all day! She had a surprise party at lunch and then we had a 70s themed party last night at Bible study! Too much fun! I am so blessed to call April my friend... and most importantly, my sister in Christ. She is such a precious addition to my life... she always seems to know just what I need... she's a-constant-encourager-listening-ear-laugh-til-I-hurt-makes-me-smile-just-thinking-about-her-kind-of-friend. I love you April! Thank you for being my BFF! My friends in Columbus have truly become my family and I couldn't make it day to day without them!

Adorable Jack Dudley!

Alex, Maribeth, and Brady let me borrow their little fella yesterday morning (Maribeth was getting her teeth cleaned) and he was just adorable! Brad's ready for #2 and I'm trying my hardest to get baby fever! :) Bes was really sweet with Jack Dudley... until I showed him a little bit of attention and then she was like... that's MY mama! :) Bes is my little sweetie and I can't imagine her being a big sister just yet.

Duck huntin' with the boys...

Brad and Neil took me and Leah duck hunting with them Sunday evening. It was REALLY cold... and we didn't see a single duck but it was fun... I guess... :)

Where's Brad?

Brad AND Neil are in this pic! :)

Me and Leah passing time.

Ducks BEWARE.

A home for the 4-wheeler!

Special thanks to Neil for helping Brad "build" a home for the 4-wheeler! The man at Lowe's said it would take all weekend... no, no... me and Leah have us some crafty hubbys... they started last night at 5 pm and finished at midnight! Impressive, huh?

Baby Meg is FINALLY here!!

The newest addition to the Shumpert clan is here!! Meg Reese Martin arrived around 8 am this morning weighing in at 6 lbs 10 oz and 18 inches long. She is just PRECIOUS... if I do say so myself! :)

Yes, sweet Charlie is at it again... I went to the flower shop to make a door hanger for Meg's room and Charlie wanted to make Aunt Sue and baby Meg a door "read" too. He picked out the flowers and ribbon and designed it all himself. He even made little notes to tie on it... "I love you Meg" and "Love Charlie". He was so excited to take it to Aunt Sue. We were walking out to the car leaving the flower shop and he said, "Oh, Meme! We forgot a balloon!" so back inside we went and he picked out a balloon to tie on it and then we were off! It was perfect!

Meme, Besser... and Megger! You think I could handle another one?? :)

Big brother Will Riley and big sister Brantley waiting to meet their little sister!

Whoohoo!!

Brad has been wanting a 4-wheeler for as long as I can remember and he FINALLY got one! Off to the huntin' camp he goes...

Happy Birthday Brad!

I'm married to a 30 year old!! :) I always feel like I fall miserably short when it comes to making Brad's birthday special. I don't know if it's because it's right after Christmas or because he hates surprises or that he threatens me with my life if I have him a party but either way I really wish I could do something spectacular for him. He is not only the best husband but the best friend I could ever ask for and I am forever grateful for all that he does for our family. I love you Brad! Happy Birthday!

Sweet, sweet Charlie.

Sunday afternoon my sister Susan had a baby shower at church and got some fabulous things for sweet baby Meg... who will be here THURSDAY! My nephew Charlie is just precious and has the most gentle spirit. My mom owns a flower shop and when he goes over there he likes to send Boppy "notes" by letting balloons go into "heaven". They had used balloons to decorate for Sue's shower and Charlie asked Grommie if he could have one of them to send a note to Boppy. That sweet little angel went outside and yelled, "BOPPY, AUNT SUE IS HAVING A BABY ON THURSDAY!!!!" and let the balloon go into "heaven". Is that not adorable? Such sweet innocence.

Weekend of Fun: Part Two

The next morning Pop Daddy and Grommie treated everyone to breakfast at Shoney's and then we headed to Chuck E. Cheese's to finish off the weekend with a bang!

Brantely showing off her tickets!
I have so many HILARIOUS pictures of her! She is such a Miss Priss and talks ALL THE TIME! :)
What Bes wanted she got the entire weekend... she walked every square inch of Chuck E. Cheese and had the most fun... until...

Chuck E. Cheese came around for a visit. She didn't cry... she literally had convulsions! Bless her heart! It was too funny (can't you tell by the AWFUL face that I am making!)

Bes had a blast! However, she hasn't mastered the art of sharing yet. She pitched many a fit at good 'ol Chuck's place. :)

Weekend of Fun: Part One

For Christmas the sisters gave all the kids a night at a hotel with an indoor swimming pool complete with a pizza party, breakfast at Shoney's and a trip to Chuck E. Cheese the next morning. Friday night we started the fun at Baymont Inn and the kids swam and swam and swam... except for Bes... when we got there she couldn't wait to jump in but once she got in she didn't know if she liked it so well. But Sissy said... "What happens at the Baymont, stays at the Baymont"... so Bes definately had her share of fun!

Bes loved the pizza... and the M & M's... and the powdered donuts... and the...

Blake slept through it all but next year she'll be ready!

Happy New Year!

For New Year we went over to our friends, Jason and April's for some good food, fun, and GUITAR HERO!!! Brad caught on rather quickly and promptly went and bought one for us! :) I've never really been one for resolutions... I guess I know myself too well and figure why waste my time because I know I'll never keep them BUT like most I would like to loose the last bit of baby weight (I know, it's been over a year now!), not obsess so much over having a clean house, and lastly, study the Word of God more and APPLY it! :)

BFF's Erika, Amy, and April! :)
We missed you, Leah!

Rockstars!

Brad and April REALLY rocking it out!
