Most.fun.ever.

We did it.
The Warrior Dash.
Most.fun.ever.
 {Minus the frigid temps}

 {and yes those would be chill bumps on my arm}

*McKenna *Sam *Caroline *Ben *Bo

We raised thisclose to $600 for St. Jude! Woop! Woop!

Bucket List Warriors. That would be us.

Shump sounded too sweet and not at all warrior like. So I added the
 Dawg. Nice touch, don't you think?

My Kater Hater. The best dash day buddy in the history of the world.

{before}

Ok, so this is not us... Brad got splashed with mud right before we crossed the finish line and it resulted in a slight camera malfunction. Just gives you an idea of what it was all about. =)

{after}

 I already can't wait until next year. Though I will say, not knowing what to expect was part of the fun. There were "detours" around each obstacle and we made a rule that there was NO shortcuts.
 If there was a mudhole {and there were mudholes a'plenty} we just jumped right in.
cargo nets, check.
 climbing wall, Kate faced her fears and scaled that wall like it was her job.
 the rock wall caked with slippery mud? thanks be unto Kater Hater for the much needed boost.
To you Little Miss very tall pole that I must slide down because there was absolutely no other way down... you appeared to be a certain broken bone if my arms failed and you intimidated me the most but BOO YA!
Swimming the creek... freezing!
Hurdling fire, ahhhh warmth.
Such a crazy, muddy {cold} fun day.

Most. Fun. Ever.

Ballerina Bes.

Bes's ballet debut was this weekend. All 30 seconds of it. No kidding. But I will say it was the sweetest 30 seconds that you ever did see. Yeah, it took waaaay longer to get her hair in a bun. Goodness, that bun gave me a run for my money. When we picked up Nannie Bes gave her the lowdown on how that 'do was accomplished. She said and I quote.
First, you wet your hair real good.
Then you put a BUNCH of that dippy do in it.
Then you just brush it back and back and back and that part hurted a little bit.
Then you have to put some of mama's bobby pins in it.
And then you have to spray it and spray it and spray it some more!

Her little class. 4 little flowers and a bumble bee. =)

The finale... giving God the glory.

They are so cute I just want to eat them.

With her sweet little teacher, Mrs. Anne.

Nannie and Daddy with the ballerina princess.

With Pop Daddy and Grom.

Mae thought big sister was just fan to the tastic!

I thought my sweet girl looked like a little doll... so I took a ton of pictures. =)

 I think I love her.

One year photo shoot.

I took Mae {and sister} for her big one year
photo shoot. Sniff. Sniff.
My super duper talented friend, Liz lived here when she was just a wee mom of one... then the military moved her away and she added two more kids to her fam and and still had the time to develop her passion for photography into a business. She amazes me. =) When I heard she was moving back I just HAD to have her take some photos for me!

Playing catch up.

We celebrated another year of Nannie!

Getting ready for some tee ball!!

{I adore this picture.}
Daddy being all serious showing Bes exactly how it's done and
Bes thinking he is hilarious.

And this little bad boy thought he was going to live it up in our bedroom. Not cool.

This sweet girl would follow her sister step for step all the day long.
Here Bes and her daddy are outside and Mae doesn't want to miss a thing.

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Leave this girl alone for a second...

... and this happens.

Happy Easter!

This Easter I really tried to make it all about the real meaning instead of just hunting eggs and candy. We had to miss our church's Easter Egg hunt {but she did get to hunt eggs at school} and she won't go near the Easter Bunny at the mall... even the thought of Santa or the E.B. coming into the house to leave her gifts makes her anxious... so we really never even talked about him coming at all. She made her very own set of Resurrection Eggs at church and those were a big hit! She really looked forward to opening an egg each night leading up to Easter. The Wednesday night before Easter our church presented a musical/drama of the Resurrection of Christ. I had talked to Bes at length about it and she was insistent on going to "big church" to watch the play. Since this was our first year at FBC, I never had the pleasure of viewing their performance... I assumed that maybe the whole bloody Jesus being nailed to the cross part would be at the end and Bes would get to see the majority of it and then we might have to step out. Well folks, not so. The first note was sung and right out of the gate came a very realistic (as I can only imagine) Jesus carrying his cross... immediately followed by him being nailed to the cross... I mean it was hard for me to watch. Bes was HORRIFIED. I HAD to get her out of there. Bless her. Seriously, what was I thinking!?! So I took her to her little class and thought to myself how on earth am I going to explain what just happened to a 4 year old!?! Afterwards, I picked her up and we got to the car and she cracked me up when she said, "ok mom, start from the beginning and tell me EVERYTHING!" After I all bit traumatized her I decided to keep the mood a little lighter...

so got our craft on...

and I found the sweetest blog that had a "Beyond the Bunny" post  that had some of the best ideas.
 So I stole them.

Saturday Bes and her Daddy went fishing and to do "daddy stuff" which resulted in coming home with 3 baby chicks because Bes just HAD to have them. Chicken coop is currently in the works. Sigh. Anyhoo, that's all this girl has had on her mind is her little chickies. So Easter morning she wakes up to this sweet little story of the Real Easter Bunny and an egg that held her first clue. She comes in my bedroom and is DYING to go check on her chickies and I say, "Did the Easter Bunny not come see you?" and she says to me with some serious attitude and neck bobbing and not the least bit thrilled, "Yep, he brought me a piece of paper."

So I read the said piece of paper and looked inside the egg... which began her scavenger hunt
for her Easter basket!

FINALLY! =)

Then sleeping beauty woke up and {sister} got into her basket!

 And then it was time to make our Resurrection Rolls!

After church we had the Mullins over for our annual Easter family photo shots and lunch.

Then it was off to celebrate with Pop Daddy and Grom!

 Happy Easter!!

I'll leave you with the lyrics to one of my favorite songs of all time.
{In Christ Alone}
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save

Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
{this part always give me chills. always.}
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory
Sins curse has lost its grip on me
{love this part too}
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand

I will stand, I will stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground, all other ground
Is sinking sand, is sinking sand
So I stand

Can I get an AMEN!?! =)
